stratman687 asked:

I have been thinking about philosophy, metaphysics, epiphenomenalism, quantum mechanics, science, death, and the meaning of life obsessively for the past 6 months. I haven’t been able to enjoy life at all… I am currently getting psychotherapy with a social worker but it’s been a bit slow… Is there anybody who has had the same problem and how they cope with it?

What field combines philosophy and psychology to study emotions, values, and behaviors?

hello =] asked:

Cognitive science is the best fit I’ve seen so far, but it seems to focus more on the “mechanics” of living (linguistics, perception, memory). I would like to focus more on emotions, values, and behaviors from a philosophical standpoint, but taking into account psychological factors.

For example, I might study how people decide what will make them happy or how people develop friendships.
*What kind of career could I get? besides being a researcher. Something that wouldn’t require grad schooling. Just a master’s.

Ginger asked:

Is it better to take chances, believe in the philosophy that you only live once, make big mistakes, get very hurt, yet experience euphoria or live life safely, stop yourself from loving & being loved and live a sedentary lifestyle? So far, I’ve lived life in the slow lane, leading a sort of boring life, finding peace and experiencing happiness, but not extreme happiness. Thx!

Could a philosophy course be helpful in any way if I want to become a pharmacist?

There’s a relatively cheap summer program at FIT a few of my friends are going to. I’d like to go, but I don’t think design and pharmacy really correlate with each other.

They do offer other courses as well, though.
If not Philosophy, I’m thinking..
General Psychology
Introduction to the Physical Sciences
Introduction to Biological Science

I’m really looking for anything that would look good on my college application.
