I am a philosophy major and was interested in picking up a dual major in English to pursue work in the philosophy of language/semantics (stuff that Wittgenstein and Popper were into), but didn’t know if there were any jobs in that field that one could reasonably pursue.

Cause it seems to me that some people in the philosophy section take philosophical ideas as laws and apply them to absolutely everything. They take simple questions and answer them like they’re trying to sound smart. And its kinda annoying.

Example
Q: Were you a happy child?
A: We shouldn’t look to the past because everything is the present. We don’t exist outside of this moment. Blah blah blah.
