I know how to write an essay & I’ve had to turn a 300 word essay into my Philosophy class now for every week for this semester. My problem is that now he wants us to turn in a reflective summary about the course. Put how Philosophy has impacted me. Plus a statement about “My Philosophy.” I usually have no problem writing, but for some reason on this assignment I’m at a loss for words. I thought maybe someone could help me get my juices flowing to at least get started. I’m really not sure how Philosophy has impacted me or even what my philosophy really is. Help~
I have attended classes for those that have said I haven’t. We have discussed Nietsche, Truth, God is Dead, Values, Violence, & Our Future, Absence of Humility, Enlightened Egoists, Pride, Morality, moral reasoning, etc…plus discussed the movie called “What the Bleep Do We Know.” So, I know what topics to discuss for summary of the course. I’m just having a hard time with exactly what my philosophy is & how philosophy has impacted me.

The Hippie movement seems to be a fairly distinctive counter-cultural development. It shares similarities with Nietzsche’s philosophical teachings in that it is anti-conformist and highly individualistic. Yet, in another sense, hippies advocate peace and weak liberal values. What do you think their relationship is?
By the way, I’m not implying there is a relationship between the two; I’m just trying to define what makes them consistent with eachother.
