Just Some Guy asked:

when asked to write a short paper about my philosophy I drew a blank and didn’t write it. I am a logical person who spends most of my time trying to survive and live the best life possible. I understand the philosophies of the great ones, but I don’t know what my philosophy is. Maybe I don’t have one.

Legion asked:

AND IF YOU’RE FEELING CRAZY, what are your goals concerning philosophy?
Well Pacifist, my goals are quite simple, well, to put into words at least. To find truth, and eventually spread it, would be the utmost dignifying thing for me to do in my opinion, & that’s all i want, is dignity, that’s my inspiration, and as i mentioned before, spreading truth is my desire.
I apologize about my over usage of commas in my last detail.

Blessed Cheesemaker (cancelled) asked:

At its heart Christianity is about the destruction of all those who don’t accept God, irregardless of the type of person they were, and paradise for all those who accept God, irregardless of the type of person they were.

If you accept jesus on your deathbed, you get a mansion, forgetting all the lives you might have destroyed as you lived you own.

So should Christianity really be classified as a moral religion or an immoral philosophy.

Ben F asked:

I am considering combining a B.A. in the History and Philosophy of Science with either biology or anthropology. Where can this take me? I want to combine a science with a humanity and the coursework looks fascinating, but I’m afraid that this degree will be useless if I decide not to continue my education. I just don’t have enough information to make a decision, and its not a common degree so I’m having trouble finding career paths stemming from it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Why is it that the lonely hearts often post in the philosophy forum?

Vasco Pyjama asked:

Why do the lonely hearts, rejected and forlorn choose to post questions in the philosophy forum instead of in the relationships forum where they belong? It seems simple to me. If it’s something you’d cry about, it belongs in the relationships forum. If it’s something to think about, without crying, it goes here. Why is there so much confusion?

babysnoopyfan asked:

Philosophy seems so imprecise. It’s not black and white, there are a lot of shades of gray. Logic is black and white and doesn’t seem to have shades of gray.
going with the example
all men are mortal
Socrates is a man
therefore Socrates is mortal
it’s not telling us anything we didn’t already know, so how is it significant?
I appreciate all efforts to help “clue” me in.
Thanks.
as always the answers provided are astounding, it will be very difficult for me to pick a best answer.
